- stem threads exposed to air shall be well lubricated to minimize thread wear and reduce operating torque of the valve.
- lubrication of the threaded portion of the stem is necessary. Lubricating the seal area of the stem is not recommended. Or else , it  may cause some harmful impurities and particles to attach to the stem or enter the packing box with serious consequences.Eg.stem threads are severely worn or deformed.
